Welcome

Welcome to North Texas Nurse Practitioners

NTNP was established in 1997 when it branched off from the Dallas/Ft. Worth group and began it's own organization. NTNP is dedicated to serving the interests of the Nurse Practitioners in North Texas, regardless of specialty, and is recognized by Texas Nurse Practitioners. We currently have over 360 active members from various specialties. About 1/4 of our membership is student members.

In 2001, NTNP created a student scholarship fund.  NTNP awards a scholarship to one or two nurse practitioner students annually.  The 2009 recipients of the NTNP Scholarship were Rebecca Martin from Baylor School of Nursing and Colette Blair from TWU. We have also held continuing education conferences annually for several years, which have been a big success.

In addition to our emphasis on continuing education, NTNP is involved with community projects. We have several drives per year, with collected items such as socks, books, and toiletries, and monetary contributions donated to local organizations including the homeless shelters at Parkland and the Dallas Life Foundation.
